FAQ
Everything worth knowing about working with SOUR, answered honestly.
Working with sour
What kind of clients does SOUR work with?
SOUR works with founders, startups, and small businesses who are serious about building a brand that lasts. Our clients typically sit at one of three stages: launching something new, refreshing an existing brand, or scaling up and needing a creative partner across multiple channels. We partner best with teams who value both strategy and craft, and who want a design studio that stays involved beyond the initial handover.
How long does a typical project take?
A brand identity project typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. A Webflow website takes 4 to 8 weeks. A combined brand and website project runs 8 to 10 weeks end to end. We send a clear schedule with every milestone before work begins, so you know exactly what's happening and when.
Do you work with clients outside of Copenhagen?
Yes. SOUR is based in Copenhagen but works with clients across Europe, North America, and beyond. Our process runs smoothly remotely, with key touchpoints handled over video calls and shared tools like Figma, Webflow, and ClickUp. Time zone differences rarely get in the way.
How many projects do you take on at once?
SOUR keeps its roster intentionally small. At any given time we work with a limited number of active projects, which means every client gets our full attention. The result is better work, faster decisions, and a more focused experience from kickoff to handover.
What does the onboarding process look like?
Onboarding starts with a discovery and planning session. Before our first call you'll receive a short briefing questionnaire, which helps us arrive prepared. In the call itself we dig into your business, audience, goals, and vision. From there we build a clear project plan and get to work.
How do you handle feedback and revisions?
Feedback happens in dedicated review rounds at key stages of the project. Clients leave comments directly in Figma during design, and in Webflow during build, which keeps notes specific and organized. Each revision round is scheduled into the project timeline so nothing drags out, and you always know when the next review is happening.
Pricing & Packages
How much does a brand identity project cost?
Brand identity projects with SOUR start at €4,500. The final investment depends on the number of deliverables, the overall complexity of the brand system, and your timeline. After our first call we send a detailed proposal with a tailored quote for your specific project.
How much does a Webflow website cost?
Webflow websites with SOUR start at €6,000. This includes UX, visual design, Webflow development, CMS setup, and a full handover session. More complex builds with custom interactions, larger content structures, or e-commerce functionality are scoped individually and quoted after discovery.
Do you offer fixed-price projects or hourly rates?
SOUR works on fixed-price project fees. You know exactly what you're paying upfront, with no surprise invoices and no scope creep billed quietly. Hourly rates only apply to ongoing support retainers or work that falls outside the original project scope.
What's included in each package?
Every project proposal outlines exactly what's included. Brand identity projects typically cover strategy, visual identity, and a full brand guidelines document. Website projects cover UX, design, Webflow development, CMS setup, foundational SEO, and launch support. SOUR does not work with vague scopes.
Do you require a deposit to get started?
Yes. SOUR requires a 50% deposit to secure your spot in the production schedule and begin work. The remaining 50% is invoiced one month into the project timeline.
Design & Process
Does SOUR do brand strategy as well as visual design?
Yes. Strategy is the foundation of every SOUR project. We start by understanding your positioning, audience, and brand voice before making a single visual decision. Good design without strategy is just decoration, and decoration does not build brands that last.
How does SOUR approach a brand identity project from scratch?
Our brand identity process has four phases: discovery, concept development, refinement, and delivery. Discovery sets the strategic direction. Concept development produces two distinct creative routes for you to choose between. Refinement shapes the chosen direction based on your feedback. Delivery hands over the finished system, ready to use. The process is structured, but collaborative at every stage.
What does the discovery phase involve?
Discovery is where we understand your business in depth. It includes a briefing questionnaire, a kickoff call, and a review of your market, competitors, and audience. The output is a clear creative direction and a strategic foundation that guides every decision through the rest of the project.
How many design concepts will we see?
SOUR typically presents two distinct creative directions during concept development. Two options give you a meaningful choice without overwhelming the process or diluting the work. From there we develop the chosen direction into a full brand identity system.
What file formats does SOUR deliver at the end of a project?
You receive every asset in the formats you need, including SVG, PNG, PDF, and any additional formats relevant to your use case. Everything is organized into clearly labeled folders, ready for your team to use across print, digital, and social channels.
Webflow & Technical
Why does SOUR build in Webflow instead of WordPress?
Webflow gives SOUR full design control without the bloat of traditional CMS platforms. Compared to WordPress, Webflow sites are faster to load, more secure out of the box, and significantly easier for non-technical clients to manage without calling a developer. For the kind of brand-led websites SOUR builds, Webflow is simply the better tool.
Will I be able to edit my own website after launch?
Yes. SOUR builds every Webflow site with the Editor in mind, so you can update text, images, and content without touching any code. We also include a full handover session to walk your team through the system. The goal is a website your team can actually run, not one that depends on us forever.
Does SOUR set up the CMS so my team can manage content?
Yes. If your site includes a blog, case studies, team pages, or any repeating content, SOUR sets up the Webflow CMS so your team can add and edit entries independently. No developer required. We also write clear, custom documentation for your specific setup, so onboarding new team members is straightforward.
Does SOUR offer SEO setup as part of the website build?
Yes. Every SOUR website includes foundational SEO setup: meta titles, meta descriptions, Open Graph tags, clean URL structure, alt text on images, and sitemap configuration. SOUR does not offer ongoing SEO services, but we make sure your technical foundation is solid from day one so ongoing content work has something to build on.
What happens if something breaks after launch?
Every launch includes a short support window, usually four weeks, where SOUR catches and fixes issues that might come up. For clients who want continued peace of mind after that, we offer ongoing support packages with predictable setups for updates, fixes, and small improvements.
Ownership & handover
Who owns the final brand assets and designs?
You do. Once the project is complete and final payment is received, full ownership of all deliverables transfers to you. SOUR retains the right to showcase the work in our portfolio and case studies unless we agree otherwise in writing before the project begins.
Will I get the source Figma files?
Yes. Source Figma files are included in the handover for every brand identity and website project. You get full access to edit, duplicate, and build on the work, which means you are never locked into working with SOUR long-term unless you want to be.
Does SOUR offer ongoing support after a project is complete?
Yes. SOUR offers flexible support arrangements for clients who want continued design help after a project wraps. Whether it's occasional updates, campaign-specific work, or a regular monthly retainer, we find a setup that works for your team, your workload, and your budget.
